Terms & Conditions

This Agreement ("Agreement") sets forth the terms and conditions of your use of SSL/TLS certificate registration and related services ("Services") available through the CertumSSL Online Store. In this Agreement, "you" and "your" refer to you and the person or entity associated with the Certificate request information. "We", "us" and "our" refers to CertumSSL.net.

YOUR AGREEMENT: By using the Services, you agree to all terms and conditions of this Agreement and any rules, policies, or agreements published in association with specific Services and/or which may be adopted or enforced by relevant certificate authorities or governments. Your continued use of the Services following notification of a change in this Agreement indicates your consent to the changes. Unless otherwise specified by us, any such change binds you: (1) 30 days after we notify you of the change, or (2) immediately if such change is a result of a new or amended applicable law.

CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT: This Agreement may change over time, either through amendments by us, changes in applicable law, or otherwise. Before any material changes to this Agreement become binding on you, we will notify you of such changes by, for example, sending email to you at your email address of record, or by posting the changes on our web site. If, as a result of such a change, you no longer agree with the terms of this Agreement, your exclusive remedy is to cancel your Services with us. We reserve the right to modify, change, or discontinue any aspect of our Services, these Terms, including without limitation our prices and fees, at any time.

YOUR ACCOUNT

REGISTRATION: You must create an account to use the Services ("Account"). To register, you supply the following information:

  • Full name or company name
  • Email address (cannot be changed after registration — choose carefully)
  • Phone number
  • Domain name(s) and organization details (for OV/EV certificates)
  • The account may be deleted through the account settings page at any time.
  • Accounts inactive for 36 consecutive months may be deleted by the Seller without notice.

PASSWORD SECURITY: You are solely responsible for maintaining, securing, updating, and keeping strictly confidential all login IDs and passwords, and for all access to and use of your Account by you or any third party. You should change your password periodically for security purposes. If you suspect unauthorized access to your Account, you must notify the Seller immediately.

PRICING & PAYMENT

PRICES: All prices are displayed in USD and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. The price of a Product is binding at the time the Order is placed. We reserve the right to change prices from time to time, but such changes do not affect previously completed Orders. In the event any fees for Services change, we will use reasonable efforts to give you thirty (30) days prior notice of such a change. All fees are non-refundable in whole or in part, even if your certificate is suspended, cancelled, or revoked prior to the end of its term, unless this Agreement specifically provides for a refund.

PAYMENT METHODS: Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards (via Stripe), PayPal, and other methods indicated on the checkout page. All payments are processed securely in accordance with PCI DSS standards. In the event we determine that your Account is engaged in repeated abuse of this Agreement then we may elect to terminate your entire Account.

PAYMENT ISSUES: In the event of a chargeback, or if we have belief in an imminent chargeback, by a credit card company, credit card holder, or similar action by another payment provider, we may suspend access to any and all Accounts you have with us and all interests in and use of your Services. We may cancel any order(s) associated with anything covered in this section, but may not provide a refund. We may reinstate your rights to and control over these Services solely at our discretion, and potentially subject to our receipt of the unpaid fees. If you have an issue with credit card or other payment charges, you should contact us regarding the issue before you contact your payment provider to request a chargeback or reversal of the charges.

OVERPAYMENT: If you have overpaid, you may request a refund of the excess amount or credit it toward a future purchase by contacting our support team.

ORDER PLACEMENT & CERTIFICATE ISSUANCE

ORDERS: You must provide accurate and complete information when placing an Order, including domain name(s), validation type, and contact details for the Certificate. You represent and warrant that the statements in your application are true and that no Services are being procured for any unlawful purpose. Providing inaccurate information and willful failure to update information within seven (7) days of any change will constitute a material breach of this Agreement.

  • An Order is processed and confirmed after payment is successfully received.
  • You may cancel an Order at any time before payment is completed. No charges will be applied.

ISSUANCE TIMELINE: Certificate issuance times depend on the validation type:

  • Domain Validation (DV): Approximately 1 hour after successful domain verification.
  • Organization Validation (OV): 1–5 business days after successful organization verification.
  • Extended Validation (EV): 1–7 business days after successful extended verification.

DELIVERY: After issuance, the Certificate will be delivered to you via email and made available for download in your account dashboard. You are responsible for ensuring the email address provided during Order placement is valid and monitored. You are responsible for regularly monitoring email sent to the email address in your Account. We are not liable for delivery failures due to incorrect email addresses.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATION

  • Before Payment: You may cancel an Order at any time before payment. No charges will be applied.
  • Certificates Not Yet Issued: You may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of payment by contacting our support team. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7 business days of approval.
  • Certificates Already Issued: No refunds are provided once the Certificate has been issued and delivered. SSL/TLS Certificates are digital products that, once activated, cannot be returned or reused.

CERTIFICATE REVIocation: You may request certificate revocation at any time after issuance through your account dashboard. Revocation does not entitle you to a refund. Revoked certificates will be immediately invalidated and will no longer provide the security benefits of SSL/TLS encryption.

CERTIFICATE ACTIVATION & MANAGEMENT

  • The Certificate binds to the specific domain name(s) and organization information provided at the time of the Order. This information cannot be modified after issuance.
  • If Certificate details are incorrect, you must request a reissuance (subject to availability in the purchased plan) or apply for a new certificate.
  • Certificates are activated upon successful validation and issued for a period of 365 days from the date of first issuance, unless otherwise stated on the Product page.
  • You are responsible for monitoring the Certificate's expiration date and initiating reissuance or renewal in a timely manner.
  • Reissuance is available within the purchased plan's allowance. Exceeding the reissuance limit may result in additional charges.

WARRANTY & QUALITY GUARANTEE

  • All Certificates sold through the Online Store are issued by Certum Certification Authority, one of Europe's oldest and largest trusted Certificate Authorities, and are backed by Certum's WebTrust, eIDAS, and TÜV certifications.
  • We warrant that all Certificates delivered are genuine and will be recognized by all mainstream browsers and operating systems.
  • If a Certificate is not recognized by any mainstream browser due to a fault of the Seller or Certum, you may request a replacement or refund (if the Certificate was not yet used).
  • Technical warranty for Certificate-related issues is handled by Certum's official support team, and our team provides additional assistance.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT & COMPLAINTS

Our dual technical support system ensures that Customers receive help from both our dedicated team and Certum's official support team. Complaints and support requests can be submitted via:

  • Complaints are registered with a reference number and processed within 14 business days. You will be notified of the resolution via email.
  • If we do not respond within the stated time limit, the complaint is deemed accepted in accordance with your request.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

You agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute through friendly negotiation with the Seller. If negotiation fails, the dispute shall be submitted to the competent court having jurisdiction over the Seller's registered office in Nanjing, China.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: We will not be liable for any (a) suspension or loss of the Services, (b) use of the Services, (c) interruption of Services or interruption of your business, (d) access delays or access interruptions to our web site(s) or Services, (e) loss or liability resulting from acts of or events beyond our control, (f) data non-delivery, mis-delivery, corruption, destruction or other modification, or (g) application of any dispute policy. We will not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind (including lost profits) regardless of the form of action whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall our maximum aggregate liability exceed the total amount paid by you for Services.

We are not responsible to determine whether the domain name(s) you select, or the use you or others make of the domain name(s), or other use of the Services, infringes legal rights of others. It is your responsibility to know whether or not the domain name(s) you select or use or allow others to use infringe legal rights of others.

PRIVACY & DATA PROTECTION

  • Your personal data is collected for the purpose of processing Orders, issuing Certificates, and providing customer service.
  • Data collected may include: name, company name, email address, phone number, domain name(s), organization details (for OV/EV), and billing information.
  • We will not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except as required to issue the Certificate (e.g., sharing with certificate authorities, validation partners, and payment processors).
  • Personal data is stored securely and retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the Contract and comply with applicable legal obligations.

FINAL PROVISIONS

  • We reserve the right to amend this Agreement at any time. Amendments will be published on the Website with an updated date.
  • Material changes will be communicated to you via email at least 30 days before they take effect.
  • Continued use of the Website or services after the effective date of amendments constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement.
  • Orders placed before the effective date of amendments will be governed by the Agreement in effect at the time of the Order.
  • If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
  • This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and the Seller regarding the purchase of Products and services from the Online Store, superseding all prior agreements or representations.
